Introduction

The College of Radiographers (CoR) Overseas Conference Attendance Award has been established to support the presentation of research and/or service evaluation findings, education and role development as an oral paper at an international conference.

The award is available to qualified members of the Society of Radiographers and to educators who are not radiographers but who promote radiographic education; applicants may apply individually or as a small team.

Successful applicants will agree to prepare an article for publication in Synergy or Insight on their experience, and are encouraged to publish the findings of their work in Radiography.

There will be two awards per year of £500 each.

Deadline for applications will 5pm on the last Friday of September each year.

Criteria for application

Members wishing to be considered for this award must:

  • have been in continuous membership with the Society of Radiographers for a minimum of two years at the date of application for the award;
  • hold current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or appropriate voluntary register; and
  • be prepared to act as an ambassador for the Society and College of Radiographers during the conference visit and at all times in relation to the receipt and use of the award.

Applications

Those wishing to apply for the award are required to complete the accompanying application form and submit this alongside a short CV (for each applicant if applying as a team) and a manager’s letter of support by the deadline.

NB Funding will not be released until notification has been received from the conference organisation committee confirming that the abstract has been accepted for presentation as an oral paper.

Successful individuals will be required to sign and adhere to the Society and College of Radiographers’ terms and conditions for the award.
