Assistant Practitioner Accreditation
The introduction of the career progression framework to the radiography profession, coupled with changes to career development structures within the NHS, has led to the need for individuals to be accredited as Assistant Practitioners in order for their qualifications and practice to be recognised within the NHS.
For individuals to receive accreditation, it is necessary for them to demonstrate knowledge, skills and achievement at the relevant level as identified in the Society and College of Radiographers’ Learning and Development Framework. This can be done in one of two ways:
Either
By successful completion of a College of Radiographers' approved course - See List of Approved Courses
Or
Through the submission of a portfolio of evidence, see guidance notes below.
The AAP Online Register allows members of the public to confirm that the Assistant Practitioner undertaking their examination or treatment is appropriately qualified.
