Education and accreditation
The Approval and Accreditation Board of the Society and College of Radiographers (SCoR) was established in September 2004 to oversee all the approval and accreditation activity undertaken by the organisation. This has given the College of Radiographers the opportunity to develop a comprehensive framework within which education, professional development and learning departments may gain professional body recognition, leading to accreditation of both individuals and departments.
SCoR were already accrediting education programmes, but separate arrangements existed for programmes leading to accreditation as a registered practitioner (which were undertaken jointly with the Radiographers Board at the Council for Professions Supplementary to Medicine (CPSM) and then the Health Professions Council (HPC)) and other programmes and courses.
Call for applications for inclusion on the register assessors of the College of Radiographers Approval & Accreditation Board
Experienced radiographers at the cutting edge of service delivery and education provision are needed to act as assessors for the College of Radiographers.
Radiographers who are leading the service in their specific areas of practice are required to ensure that programmes being developed by education providers and approved by the College of Radiographers meet the developing needs of the service at all levels of practice and that individuals being accredited by the organisation have the necessary skills and knowledge. This provides an excellent opportunity for personal development.
The criteria for inclusion on the register of assessors and application form are below.

Notification of training dates for those recently added to the College of Radiographers register of assessors

A rolling training programme for recently approved assessors will commence on Wednesday 8th April 2009, be repeated on Wednesday 5th August and Wednesday 2nd December and will be run by an experienced assessor.

There will also be an opportunity to discuss how best to complete an assessor report.
Spaces are limited to ten per session and all events will be held at SCoR HQ. A copy of the draft programme can be accessed below. Pre-assessment work will be sent to you following registration.
