Store Policy
Prices
Products are charged at the price shown on the product pages on the date the customer places the order. All prices are inclusive of VAT at the current rate where appropriate. Prices are correct at time of publication.
Orders will be processed at our published prices, otherwise, in the case of any unexpected change in price, you will be informed and asked if you wish to reconsider your order before proceeding.
Ordering Online - Order Acceptance & Contract
We will notify you by email as soon as possible to confirm receipt of your order. Orders placed by you are an offer to purchase and will be accepted by us, subject to stock availability. If something is not in stock, we will either let you know at the time of ordering or as soon after the order has been placed as possible. The contract for the sale of the goods will be formed when we send email confirmation to you that we've dispatched the product to you at the address you provide us with.
We welcome orders from most overseas and all BFPO addresses. Please note that local import duties may be payable on receipt. VAT will be deducted where appropriate. Please note however that this site and its contents do not form an agreement between the Society and a customer in a jurisdiction in which the products offered for sale would go against any local, regional or national laws. If you know that it would be illegal for us to sell our products in your country, please do not order items from our site.
Ordering Online - Security
We are committed to protecting your privacy and personal details and do our best to ensure that ordering online with us is safe and secure.
We have put in place appropriate electronic procedures to safeguard the information that we collect. We use a reputed payment partner WorldPay to process and secure transactions on our behalf. All transactions use encryption technology to protect your personal information as best as possible. However, due to the open communication nature of the Internet, we cannot guarantee that communications between you and us, or information stored on our servers, will be free from unauthorised access by third parties.
Delivery
Shipping and handling charges are based on the weight of the item and the shipping destination and therefore vary. Your charge will be calculated when you go to the check out. You may still cancel the order at this stage. We deliver your order directly via Royal Mail or other suitable carrier.
Cancellation
You have the right to cancel an order for a full refund for any reason within 7 days of receipt of the goods. The 7 days begins on the day after you receive the goods. To cancel the contract, you must inform us in writing and return the goods to us immediately in the same condition in which you received them. You are obliged to take care of the goods while they are in your possession. Please have a look at our 'Returns' policy for details of how to return goods to us.
Where goods are delivered to a third party you will only be able to exercise this right if you are able to return to us the goods you ordered. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Returns, Replacements and Refunds
If you exercise your right to cancel, any money that you have paid for your order will be refunded, apart from your expense of returning the products (unless they are damaged or defective).
If you would rather have replacement goods, the Society can arrange for delivery to you; this constitutes a separate contract between you and the Society and the delivery charges will apply in the usual way (except where we are replacing damaged or defective goods).
We endeavour to process postal return refunds/exchanges as soon as possible, but please allow 21 days.
For more information on how to return an item, please contact onlineshop@sor.org.
Warranties and Liabilities
All of the above warranties and liabilities in relation to the Website relate to the Store Policy.
The Society's total liability for any claim howsoever arising shall not exceed the price paid for the goods supplied by the Society to the customer, together with any postage costs incurred.
If any part of these terms and conditions is unlawful, void or for any other reason unenforceable, then that provision shall be cut out of the terms and conditions and shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any of the remaining provisions. Also, if we fail to enforce a right under these terms and conditions, it does not mean that we do not have the right to enforce other rights, or the same type of right at a later stage.
No part of these terms and conditions are enforceable by anyone who is not a party to them in accordance with the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
