Diagnostic imaging

The RCR and SoR have issued an update on the diagnostic imaging accreditation programme. The document includes information about pilot site selection, standards and the accreditation process.

The two colleges are seeking to provide a means by which patients and commissioners can be assured that their imaging will be delivered to the highest standards.

The intention is to create a process that encourages and supports development of best practice in four dimensions of service:

• Patient experience;
• Use of scarce resources efficiently;
• Clinical outcomes;
• Patient safety.
