UK Radiographer of the Year
The SoR is inviting nominations for its annual UK Radiographer of the
Year and Team of the Year awards.
The person/ team must agree to being nominated and, should they win either their regional/national award, be willing to attend the presentation ceremony at the House of Commons.
Susan Carter was Radiographer of the Year 2006. She has recently
retired from her post as clinical tutor and lecturer at Furness
General Hospital, Cumbria, and looks back with pride on winning the
award.
The ceremony at the House of Commons was exceptional. To be in the company of so many hardworking and truly dedicated professionals was a privilege a wonderful experience. This has to be the highlight of anyones career and winning the award means everything to me.
"I would encourage other members to nominate for the 2007 awards there are so many radiographers who give 101% and go that extra mile. Departmental bosses may be appreciative but nothing can compare with the recognition and praise extended by your professional body.
Jill Mulrooney, senior I radiographer, Weston Park Hospital,
Sheffield, was a member of the 2006 Team of the Year. Although we
feel like we are doing our job its nice to be recognised for the
hard work and dedication from all staff groups in the team. The whole
team is proud of the achievement medical staff have even been
pointing out our achievement to patients when they compliment us on
the service they receive.
The prize for the SoR UK Radiographer of the Year is £250, a Fujifilm
digital camera, plus a commemorative certificate. Each regional
national winner will also receive a prize of £100, a Fujifilm digital
camera, and a certificate. The SoR UK Team of the Year will receive
£250, an engraved plaque, and commemorative certificates.
