SoR funds major research project
The SoR is inviting expressions of interest to complete a major piece
of work. The research aims to identify the current scope of practice
for the radiography workforce across the entire spectrum of clinical
imaging and radiotherapy.
In 2003 a study was undertaken to identify practice and this was published in the document Role Development Revisited: The Research Evidence 2003. The findings from this project informed the writing of a further publication called The Scope of Practice 2003.
Significant developments over the last five years have led to the need for up-to-date research and a new scope of practice. Researchers would need to consider the healthcare environment, the career progression framework, individual roles, and individual specialisms. The deadline for expressions of interest is 1 November. The final project report will be considered in March 2008. A maximum of £25,000 is available to fund the work.
