Leading imaging agents firms merge
Leading brands merge to create "global powerhouse".
Two of the world’s leading brands in the diagnostic imaging market have merged.
Bracco Diagnostics has paid $21 (£10) per share in cash for E-Z-EM Inc, a leading manufacturer of contrast agents for gastrointestinal radiology and developer of VoLumen®.
Bracco Group is the US subsidiary of Milan-based Bracco Imaging SpA and part of the Bracco Group, one of the world leading companies in the imaging agent business. The company employes about 1,250 people and sells its products in over 80 countries.
Anthony Lombardo, president and CEO of E-Z-EM, said: “The E-Z-EM and Bracco brands are well recognised and respected for quality and clinical performance, and we believe the combination will create significant synergies in our product platforms.”
