It was another successful trip across the pond for the Society and College of Radiographers in November 2007.

At RSNA’s 93rd annual meeting two key industry players were welcomed to the College of Radiographers’ Industry Partnership Scheme (CoRIPS).

SoR president Zena Mitton presented Toshiba Medical Systems and Covidien (formerly Tyco Healthcare) with their CoRIPS plaques. The new joiners take the number of industry partners to eight.

The partnership scheme benefits both industry and the radiography profession by providing support for research and professional development. It gives corporate partners the opportunity to engage with members and the College.

Matthew Stork, managing director of Toshiba Medical Systems Ltd, said: “Toshiba has joined the scheme on the basis that we will be able to contribute more effectively to the development of the radiography profession, via its professional body. Opportunities to interact with radiographers in a coordinated manner on a national basis are limited and the CoRIPS scheme gives us the chance to sit together on the same side of the table.”

During RSNA, SoR staff were kept busy speaking with delegates who visited the Society’s booth to find out more about its role and services.

The Society’s CEO Richard Evans said: “It is great that this year’s RSNA saw two further partner companies demonstrating their commitment to radiography research and professional development.”
