Society launches online Noticeboard service

A new online service that makes it simple to find events, courses, study days, seminars and conferences has been launched by the Society of Radiographers.
The new Noticeboard is available to SCoR members who would like to browse what's going on, where and when. It is also open to non-members who would like to input forthcoming events.
The system has been based on the Noticeboard section which appears in the hard copy of Synergy News each month, but with several additional features. For example, users can directly input notices and keep a personal log of the notices that have been uploaded. Unlike the print version, notices can be updated and published at any time.
As well as uploading their own notices, users can browse the noticeboard for past or future events and refine search results by date, type, topic and region/country. Another handy feature is the email alerts system.
Event organisers are encouraged to input their notices, whether they are courses, study days, conferences or seminars. However, they must be of relevance to diagnostic and/or therapeutic radiographers. All notices will be verified before publication.
Christina Freeman, professional officer for the SCoR, has been instrumental in the development of the new service. She explains: "We are delighted to be launching this new service which has been in the making for some time. We are sure that the Noticeboard will become a really useful service for all imaging professionals, as well as those who work with the profession.
"Not only will it be easier for SCoR members to search and browse events, study days and courses, it will also give those who would like to promote their events the opportunity to get their message out quickly and accurately. We encourage all those interested in what's going on in the radiography profession to log on and take a look."
The Noticeboard has been designed to complement the Society's online Events system which was launched in early 2009. The Events system gives users the opportunity to browse, book and pay for SCoR events online.
Christina continued: "As more and more people use the Noticeboard to promote their events, the more comprehensive it will become. Please do take a look and make the most of this feature. We welcome all feedback and look forward to hearing your comments."

Please note, notices submitted online will not automatically appear in Synergy News. If you would like to submit your noticeboard events for publication in the Society's monthly news journal, email Angie Spring or telephone 01795 542406 for further details.
