World Radiography Day (WRD) is celebrated on 8 November each year. The date marks the anniversary of the discovery of x-radiation by Wilhelm Roentgen in 1895.
Radiographers worldwide can use the day and the days around the date to promote radiography as a career, as a vital contribution to modern healthcare, and as an opportunity to increase public awareness of diagnostic imaging and radiation therapy.
Our annual poster competition to mark World Radiography Day (WRD) has now closed. Winners will be selected this month.
This was an opportunity to have your artwork brought to life and displayed in more than 1,000 imaging and radiotherapy departments across the UK, to help inform patients and visitors about the brilliant work you do.
The theme for the competition is 'Pride in our profession' and members can submit up to five designs.
If your poster is one of the four winning designs chosen, you will receive the cash equivalent of a year's membership (currently worth £294!) and a framed A3 version of your poster.
