    The Society of Radiographers is to notify NHS trusts and employers across the UK that it will be balloting its more than 17,000 members who work in the public sector as part of the ongoing pay dispute with the government.

    The notices to employers will be issued today (Monday, 8 September) and Society members, who carry out diagnostic imaging and radiotherapy procedures, will be sent their voting papers a week later.

    This year’s Fellow will be Ashley d’Aquino, a Lecturer Practitioner in Radiotherapy at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust.

    Imaging and therapy professionals meeting in Leeds have pledged to consult the 26,000 members of the Society of Radiographers over the government’s decision to reject a pay rise for NHS staff.

    The radiographers’ union annual conference condemned the government’s rejection of the NHS Pay Review Body’s recommendation of a 1% rise.
