CT Scottish Special Interest Group

CTSSIG

Do you want to share best practice? Do you want to learn from others? Share protocols?  Have you been innovative? The CT Scottish Special Interest Group (CTSSIG) welcome CT Leads, Advanced and Specialised Radiographers to join this established forum.

With the demand for CT increasing, an ageing population and the need for ‘Realistic Radiology’, change is upon us.  It is essential Radiographers are proactive and our work is highlighted to our Radiology colleagues, members of the multidisciplinary care team and patients.  Indeed this change is happening with the requirement to inform patients regarding radiation dose and risks with legislation change in 2018.  So in the area that dominates medical exposures, why aren’t we sharing practice nationally?

We have a well-documented lack of Radiologists and it is time Radiographers highlighted team working as a solution and become drivers of change, maximising networking potentials across Scotland. The group hopes to link with other CT SIG’s across the UK, this will be an invaluable source of information.

The aim is to meet twice a year with a focus on technology, education and service management. There will be email chains to discuss current issues/situations prior to meetings and the opportunity to feed into other groups.
