I am a career sonographer (qualified in 2005), and began in sonography education at Brunel University of London with the MSK Ultrasound Programmes in 2023. Realising that I loved education and wanted to learn more, I became the Ultrasound Practice Educator for the North Central London Imaging Academy in 2024 (in a split role with BUL) and then went on to complete my PgCert in Clinical Education in 2025. As a new educator, I found it was all very exciting but also overwhelming, and what was most helpful in navigating the complexities was collaborating with other professionals in similar roles. Looking to broaden my support network, I found was that there did not seem to be a wider community of educators across the UK- and so I began the DIPE-SIG with the hopes that we can build a stronger community of educators together!

Co-chair
I started this journey as a self-taught educator, being passionate about developing others in the Radiology space with no formal training. As a Sonographer I enjoyed onboarding new staff moving into paediatrics as well as the continuous rotating resident doctors who required upskilling in complex paediatric examinations. I found sharing best practice strengthened professional standards and influenced others ability to produce high quality imaging. I was the first lead practice educator for AHPs at Great Ormond Street and am now in a full-time education role as Lead Practice Educator in Advancing Practice in the GOSH Learning academy which is a pan-trust role working with all levels of practice and all professional backgrounds. I am Senior academic module lead for diagnostics and clinical management in children and young people as part of the Advanced Practice MSc in collaboration with Middlesex University which again involves designing and delivering educator across all professions. In 2025 I completed the NHS Elect Clinical Educator development programme and enjoyed this formal learning inspiring me further. I have since realised there is a gap for the facilitation of education for educators. I have been involved in the DIPE-SIG as I want to be part of the collaborative space to influence the future of healthcare education using imaging staff to connect teams-in and out of Radiology. I value opportunities for shared learning and contributing my experience to help shape innovative approaches to teaching and practice education.

I'm a radiographer specialising in Neuroimaging, I have been lucky enough to work in some of the world leading Neuroradiology departments in the UK. First qualifying in 2016, I quickly realised I missed being in education and began an MSc part-time in Neuroimaging for Research at the University of Edinburgh which I completed in 2024. I commenced my current role as Practice Education and Development Superintendent at the National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery in January 2025. Stepping back into a leadership role in a new department in a brand new role was a very challenging way to start the practice education period of my career but it has been my most rewarding role to date - I've loved being able to share my passion for Neuroimaging and MRI Safety here! My goal for 2026 is to rejoin UoE as a student again to undertake a PgCert in Clinical Education so I can develop my educator skills to support my learners to the best of my abilities. As a very new recruit to the PE life being able to work and collaborate with others in the field has been invaluable, and I'm very proud to be a part of this SIG.
