Radiography is a vast field with elements of science, computer science, human anatomy, physiology, physics and even artificial intelligence! It offers many different types of roles where no two days are the same.

Our Introducing Radiography Careers series will delve into the fascinating world of therapeutic and diagnostic radiography. It will also explain how you can pursue this rewarding career and the skills and experience you might develop on the journey. 

We have sessions for pupils in years 4-6 and 7-12, as well as ones for teaching teams, careers advisors and parents/carers. Choose the session most relevant to you via the panel on the left or continue scrolling down. 

For Years 4-6

This session will introduce young people and teaching teams to radiographic careers. Open to primary schools in the UK and aimed at children in Years 4-6.

What is the largest bone in the human body?  What is the smallest bone in the human body? Come and find out all about the amazing world of radiographers - real life detectives who look and explore inside the human body, to help people every day who are ill or injured.


For Years 7-12

This session will introduce young people and teaching teams to radiographic careers. It’s aimed at pupils in years 7-12 and is open to schools/colleges in the UK.

Are you hoping to work in a career that is dedicated to making a difference in people’s lives? If you’d like to find out how radiographer’s look inside the human body to detect illness, or how they use radiation safely to treat cancer, watch this recorded session.

For Parents/Carers

This session is available to parents/carers of individuals that are considering different career pathways. It will spark interest and contribute to raising aspirations towards an exciting career that your young person might not be aware of. 

For Teaching Teams and Careers Advisors

This recorded session will introduce radiographic careers to teaching teams and those who advise students on different career pathways. Radiography offers a rewarding career with the opportunity to develop research, leadership and management skills.
