HCPC proposes registration price hike

Price hike

The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) is inviting responses on proposals to increase registration fees.

HCPC is proposing an increase of £10 on renewal fees (to £90), representing a 12.5 per cent increase.

In addition, readmission and scrutiny fees will be increased by a similar proportion, whilst restoration fees will more than double from £200 to £585.

If passed, the proposals will come into effect on 1 August 2015.

The fees increase is attributed to reforms laid out by the government on how the Professional Standards Authority (PSA), which oversees HCPC and other regulators, will be funded going forward.

The PSA will now be funded by the regulatory bodies, with a fee payable to the government based on the number of registrants each regulator has. This will bring an estimated £1 million in additional costs per annum.

The SCoR invites members to provide feedback on the fee increases. Please leave comments here or respond directly to the HCPC by completing the online survey or by emailing

We want your feedback.
