Society Council will examine the Francis report

Magnifying glass

The report by Robert Francis QC into the standards of care of patients treated by the Mid-Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust will be considered by the Council of the Society of Radiographers.

"The radiography workforce and everyone who works in healthcare must understand and reflect on what went wrong and what can be done to prevent such low standards of care happening again," said Jackie Hughes, the President of the Society.

'Our focus should be to enable members to continue to provide the best possible care for patients at all times. We will review Mr Francis's recommendations and the implications for medical imaging and therapeutic radiography," she continued.
