Radiographer suspended for twelve months by HCPC

Radiographer Jason Mariah has been suspended from the HCPC Register for twelve months on the grounds of misconduct.
A panel of the HCPTS heard that Mr Mariah’s left the department during working hours whilst employed as a radiographer by Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.
The Panel further heard that Mr Mariah was verbally abusive and made threats of violence towards a member of public in the hospital. He was also verbally abusive and/or made threats of violence towards a member of staff.

Panel Chair Penny Griffith commented: “Members of the public would not expect to see a radiographer behaving as Mr Mariah did, and would expect the regulator to take appropriate action to mark the seriousness of this conduct and to declare Mr Mariah’s conduct as entirely unacceptable.”
Mr Mariah was present at the hearing and represented by Mr William Davis and Mr Roderick James.
