Book your place at the NAEP Conference

The National Association of Educators in Practice (NAEP) Conference will take place in Birmingham on 10 May 2019 and practice educators, placement coordinators, managers and pre-registration students are encouraged to attend.

Themes at the conference will include:

  • Modifying practice learning to changing service needs: focusing on how changing service needs can impact practice learning experiences and facilitate new ways of working
  • Responding to new pathways to qualified practice: focusing on how practice learning is responding to changes in policy or quality standards
  • Diversity of new generation learners driving change in practice education: focusing on developing practice-based learning that is anticipative of a workforce that is both diverse and digitally native.

Louise Coleman and Jacquie Vallis, professional officers for education and accreditation, will be attending the conference.

Louise commented, “We are looking forward to hearing diagnostic and therapeutic radiographers speak about the work they are doing in practice to support learners now and in the future.

“Diagnostic and therapeutic radiographer speakers and posters will be well represented at the conference, with more speakers from our professions than any others.”

Michele Russel-Westhead, professor of higher education policy and practice at the London School of Economics and Political Science, is a confirmed speaker at the event.

Michele will share her experiences of developing apprenticeships, specifically new ‘pathways to qualified practice’, and her work to develop government policy focussing on the impact on organisational culture to effectively support the new generation of learners.

The cost of the meeting will be £90 or £50 for pre-registration students and the NAEP is free to join.
