A major part of our growth is to recruit research-active academics or industry experts to raise the profile and quality of research and education. For this particular position, we are seeking an experienced MRI radiographer or technologist to join our academic team. The main responsibility will be to operate the new Siemens 3T Magnetom Vida for a range of ongoing research projects. A variety of dedicated coils will be available alongside MR compatible cycle ergometry, dynamometry, neuro stimulation and EEG. The successful candidate will also contribute to relevant teaching (such as anatomy) and will develop their own research interests linked to priority areas in Sports Medicine and Elite Performance, Healthy Life-course or Movement Impairment (clinical conditions) themes. We will offer training towards a teaching qualification and full support to develop research, although recent experience of teaching and involvement in research outputs would be a clear advantage for applicants. This position is part of a wider initiative aiming to recruit academics with experience of brain/fMRI, cardiac, vascular and musculoskeletal imaging as well as 31P spectroscopy.
Applicants for the MRI radiographer or technologist position should have experience of operating magnetic resonance imaging scanners to collect high quality images and have knowledge of a wide range of scanning sequences. They must also have experience of managing patients from making appointments and collecting medical history, through to preparation for scanning, connecting physiological signal leads and debriefing patients afterwards.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mammographer to join our multi-professional team at Princess Anne Hospital Breast Unit within the University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS).
The service delivers both primary breast screening and symptomatic mammography. The breast unit is fully digital with three mammography units, one being a tomosynthesis system. In addition we have three mobile units to provide primary screening to our catchment area.
