Senior MRI Radiographer

HCA Healthcare UK are looking for a Senior MRI Radiographer to provide a customer focused high quality diagnostic Radiography service to their patients and service users; undertaking and performing all MRI procedures. This post will predominately cover four sites and each site will have a different speciality. Staff are therefore expected to have scanning experience in neurology, ENT, musculoskeletal, Gynae, urology, and angiography scans (the role will not cover cardiac or paediatrics).

    Manchester Metropolitan University are looking to recruit an experienced radiographer or MRI technologist to take a leading role in operating a new research-dedicated 3T Magnetic Resonance Imaging scanner in the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Manchester, UK.

    A major part of our growth is to recruit research-active academics or industry experts to raise the profile and quality of research and education. For this particular position, we are seeking an experienced MRI radiographer or technologist to join our academic team. The main responsibility will be to operate the new Siemens 3T Magnetom Vida for a range of ongoing research projects. A variety of dedicated coils will be available alongside MR compatible cycle ergometry, dynamometry, neuro stimulation and EEG. The successful candidate will also contribute to relevant teaching (such as anatomy) and will develop their own research interests linked to priority areas in Sports Medicine and Elite Performance, Healthy Life-course or Movement Impairment (clinical conditions) themes. We will offer training towards a teaching qualification and full support to develop research, although recent experience of teaching and involvement in research outputs would be a clear advantage for applicants. This position is part of a wider initiative aiming to recruit academics with experience of brain/fMRI, cardiac, vascular and musculoskeletal imaging as well as 31P spectroscopy.

    Applicants for the MRI radiographer or technologist position should have experience of operating magnetic resonance imaging scanners to collect high quality images and have knowledge of a wide range of scanning sequences. They must also have experience of managing patients from making appointments and collecting medical history, through to preparation for scanning, connecting physiological signal leads and debriefing patients afterwards.

    The Dublin Dental University Hospital is seeking to recruit a Senior Radiographer to join the team. This is a full time, permanent contract reporting to the Head of Facilities.

    Role Summary:

    The role of the Senior Radiographer includes but is not limited to:

    • Cone Beam computed tomography imaging.
    • Imaging patients and assisting students with imaging patients.
    • Managing patient workloads for Radiographers and students.
    • Actively participate in the teaching of students in the clinical setting
    • Performing student radiography competencies, QA tests and reporting on findings.
    • Play an active role in the continuing development of dental radiographic courses.
    • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in the provision of an integrated
    • Patient centred service.
    • Adhere to all departmental imaging protocols; be responsible for the correct identification of patient images.
    • Adhere to professional guidelines as determined by the Irish Institute of Radiographers and Radiation Therapists.
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of agreed policies, procedures and safe professional practice
    • Ensure the correct completion of records and reports
    • Monitor and adhere to relevant legislation, regulations and standards relevant to the use of ionising radiation
    • Performing such other duties appropriate to the office and ad hoc projects as may be assigned to him/her.
    • Attending and participating in all meetings as required.

    Each candidate must:

    • Possess a Diploma of the College of Radiographers, B. Sc. in Radiography or equivalent qualification. Qualifications obtained outside the Republic of Ireland will require validation
    • Be registered with CORU
    • Have a minimum of 3 years’ post qualification experience
    • Relevant experience in a healthcare environment
    • Have proven leadership skills.

    • Be able to identify potential difficulties and formulate solution
    • Be personally motivated with the ability to empower and motivate other
    • Demonstrable adaptability to rapid changes taking place in the Hospital and external institutions, to include educational and health services in general.

    • Have excellent administrative and organisational skills including competency in MS Office and IT systems.
    • Be free from any defect or disease which would render him/her unsuitable to hold office and be in a state of health as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
