    Experts at what we do, we work in a professional way towards our shared goals, knowing the work we do makes a genuine, lasting difference on the environment. As Radioactive Substances Inspector , that involves:

    • Support the regulation of and enforce against the requirements of EASR 2018 in respect of radioactive substances activities at nuclear sites 
    • Review statutory returns submitted to SEPA by nuclear sites across Scotland
    • Support the determination of applications and variations to environmental authorisations submitted by nuclear sites 
    • Input to the wider work programme of SEPA’s Radioactive Substances Unit

    Respect for your expertise

    This is a highly important role within our Regukation, Business & Environment portfolio, which means you’ll need:

    • Degree or equivalent qualification level in relevant science of engineering subject
    • Good, relevant experience in radioactive substances/nuclear industry
    • Knowledge and understanding of radioactive substances/ nuclear industry
    • Understanding of the principles of radiological protection
    • Understanding of requirements of SEPA’s regulatory regimes
    • Full UK Driving Licence as driving essential to role
