COLLEGE OF RADIOGRAPHERS
OPPORTUNITIES FOR EXTERNALLY APPOINTED TRUSTEES
The College of Radiographers is a UK registered charity and subsidiary of the Society of Radiographers, the trade union and professional body for the radiographic workforce and associated professionals in the UK. The Society and College of Radiographers are two separate companies operating together to provide service and support for those involved in radiography, including as patients, service users and the public.
The College of Radiographers’ Board of Trustees has vacancies for two Trustees. We are seeking individuals that are keen to share their expertise and experience within the following professional backgrounds:
A Consultant Radiologist or Clinical Oncologist
A representative from the industries that manufacture equipment for or provide support for diagnostic imaging or radiotherapy
We hope our appointees will help us to gain unique and objective insights by providing external perspectives that can contribute to the College of Radiographers’ strategic work and vision.
The term of office is 5 years with the option to stand for a second 5 year term. There are four board meetings during the year, as well as two training days. There is also an expectation that Trustees will represent the College on other committees and events representing the CoR Board of Trustees such as Radiographer of the Year and the Presidential inauguration. New Trustees will receive a full induction after joining the Board and mentoring from established trustees is provided. Trustees are encouraged to attend annual training courses and identify areas where they require external training. Support for relevant training is provided.
Applicants should demonstrate a willingness to contribute to the governance of the College of Radiographers, bringing their own perspective and expertise to contribute to the work of the charity. We are committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion among our workforce and Boards. We aim to ensure the College Board of Trustees is truly representative of all sections of society. We would welcome applications from diverse individuals and communities, and particularly Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic individuals.
This is an unpaid voluntary position, although expenses are paid for all duties associated with the role. Meetings are generally held at the Society’s head office at 207 Providence Square, Mill Street, London SE1 2EW although they are currently being held by videoconference. The building is fully accessible, and remote access to meetings via videoconference is available for those unable or unwilling to travel.
Applications are invited by CV or personal statement and covering letter and should be sent to Liz Robinson at [email protected].
Any queries can also be sent to this email address. An opportunity to speak informally about the role can be arranged.
More information about the College’s work can be viewed over at the CoR website.
