Professionalism: Our Shared Standard

Professionalism is our consistent commitment to integrity, accountability, and compassionate, person-centred care. Although workforce pressures and burnout are real threats, we protect our practice when individuals at all levels model empathy, visibility, active allyship, and fair challenge. By co-creating a culture anchored in psychological safety and open dialogue, we ensure that patient safety and professional excellence remain the norm.

Why is Professionalism important?

Professionalism is central to safe, effective, and compassionate radiographic practice.

It is part of our duty as registered health care professionals and underpinned by the Health & Care Professions Council.

Professionalism is not simply about following rules; it is reflected in everyday behaviours, attitudes, communication, accountability, and the way we work with patients, colleagues, students, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
