Radiation Protection Supervisors Course


This one-day course is primarily intended for persons who are already working as a Radiology or Nuclear Medicine Radiation Protection Supervisor and who have previously attended RPS Training.
This course will present the changes arising from the new Ionising Radiations Regulations which will be implemented in 2018.
It will also address requirements of patient protection and environmental protection regulations.
The morning session will cover the following topics:

  • The new Ionising Radiations Regulations
  • The new Ionising Radiations (Medical Exposure) Regulations
  • RPS roles & responsibilities
  • Risk Assessment
  • A scenario-based tutorial - "It shouldn't happen to an RPS"

Following lunch, the session will be split into two streams - those specific to X-ray Radiology and those relating specifically to Nuclear Medicine.
