Radiographic Image Analysis of the Appendicular Skeleton


Endorsed by the College of Radiographers, this self-guided online course from the University of Derby Online Learning is ideally suited to radiographers and allied health professionals who work with radiographs and wish to improve the image viewing skills whilst working towards their CPD Now requirements.   The course is open now and you can join at any time, studying at your own pace through online learning

The course offers a practical introduction to the analysis of radiographic images by assimilating information and formulating clinical opinion through diagnostic reasoning and interpretation of radiographic appearances.  

You will enhance your ability to interpret radiographic images of the upper and lower limb, and develop your skills in evaluating and analysing radiographic appearances. 

On the course, you will gain:

·       an understanding of the importance of using the AABCS system when reviewing images

·       knowledge of the typical common pathologies associated with the adult skeleton

·       skills and knowledge of the anatomical insertion points

·       the know-how to describe common mechanism of injury

·       the ability to understand the importance of radiographic positioning

The course will take approximately 25 hours to complete and youll gain an E-Certificate at the end of the course to evidence your learning achievement in your CPD / Professional Development portfolio.
