Welcome to the SoR Short Courses and Study Days section which showcases regional and national event opportunities. The following short courses / study days are now available for booking:

Regional committees of the SCoR will not be charged, nor will organisers of study days costing £50 or less per day. Display advertisements are available at normal rates.

MSK MRI for Beginners Course

This study day is a beginner’s course for healthcare professionals interested in interpreting musculoskeletal MRI.

Aim
The study day aims to provide participants with a practical, stimulating, step by step guide on interpretation of musculoskeletal MRI:

  • cased based;
  • assumes little or no prior experience in MSK MRI; and
  • covers most commonly performed MSK MRI studies: knee, shoulder and lumbar spine.

Target audience
This course is pitched at a level suitable for radiology registrars, radiographers, physiotherapists and orthopaedic registrars with an interest in interpreting musculoskeletal MRI in their clinical practice.

Learning outcomes
By the end of the course, the attendee will have:

  • An understanding of MR anatomy and appearance of most common pathology of knee, shoulder and lumbar spine;
  • An appreciation of a step by step approach to interpreting MSK MRI;
  • Greater confidence reading MSK MRI; and
  • Identified any knowledge gaps relevant to his/her practice, and ways by which these can be addressed.

Online Uterine Artery and MCA Doppler Study Day

This seminar is ideally for Practitioners practicing obstetric ultrasound.

Course Synopsis
This CPD will educate practitioners performing obstetric ultrasound in the application of uterine artery and middle cerebral artery (MCA) Doppler’s to allow introduction of these into practice to support the Saving Babies’ Lives care bundle version 2, which was designed to support providers, commissioners and professionals to take action to reduce stillbirths.

Aims
• Understanding the reason behind implementation of additional Doppler studies
• Understanding the use of different Doppler studies and their impact on pregnancies at risk of perinatal morbidity and mortality

Learning Outcomes
• Doppler principles and it’s application in obstetric ultrasound
• The benefits of obtaining MCA and Uterine Artery Dopplers
• Techniques in producing an MCA and uterine artery Doppler
• How to interpret Doppler results
