Specialist radiographers invited to join DXA Special Interest Group

SIG being set up for practitioners in dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry scanning and reporting

Diane Smith, specialist radiographer/radiation protection supervisor at the Grampian Osteoporosis Service, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, is establishing a dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) scanning and reporting special interest group.

The group is aimed at anyone working in the field of DXA in the UK and Ireland.and aims to  share best practice, current research and challenges, provide collaborative opportunities and focus on patient-centred care.

It will provide a platform to share research, literature and experience across a wide range of DXA operators/technicians/radiographers, share and expand on CPD opportunities, encourage professional development and the promotion of advanced practitioner status.
