In response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Society of Radiographers’ Delegates Conference Committee and the UK Council have taken the decision to postpone our Annual Delegates’ Conference (ADC) until October 2020.
At all times, and especially during periods of uncertainty, your safety and wellbeing and, importantly that of the patients at the centre of our profession, remains our highest priority.
Please rest assured the decision to postpone has not been taken lightly. We have been closely monitoring the situation as it evolves. Our healthcare services are clearly under extreme pressure, and will continue to face an escalation of demand in the coming months. As frontline health professionals, we feel the risk of continuing with our conference during this time would be irresponsible.
Once the Delegates Conference Committee (DCC) has had the opportunity to meet and discuss the logistical requirements for this postponement, detailed information will be shared with you accordingly.
You can expect to receive the following information:
There is no need to take action on your travel bookings until we provide this information to you.
The SoR management team are also reviewing the full programme of events, training and committee meeting schedule as part of our resilience and contingency planning measures. Any additional postponements or cancellations of other events will be communicated via our usual channels.
We will continue to follow the recommendations of Public Health England (PHE) and the Department of Health and Social Care. To learn more about precautions that can be taken to minimise the spread of COVID-19, please see PHE’s guidance for healthcare professionals.
I would like to thank all of you for your continued dedication to our profession during this difficult time. If you have any general questions about ADC please contact your delegate lead.
Do not hesitate to contact the SoR for membership advice and support or call 0207 740 7200.
