The Chief Allied Health Professions Officer Awards 2025 are now open for nominations, giving AHPs from across the country the chance to receive recognition for exceptional patient care.
Closing on Sunday 1 June, the CAHPO Awards promote adoption and scale of good practice through celebrating and sharing success.
Open to all 14 Allied Health Professions (AHPs), applicants can nominate themselves or another AHP, including support workers, assistant practitioners, registered professionals and pre-registration apprentices.
Award categories include:
Winners of each award will be announced in October 2025. The nomination form can be found here.
Submissions may contain a maximum of 500 words. No attachments or accompanying material will be considered.
Also announced will be the winner of the overall AHP of the year, awarded by the Chief Allied Health Professions Officer for outstanding contribution and decided from the winners of each of the categories above.
Nominations cannot be submitted for this award.
The CAHPO Gold Award for Excellence is also now open for submissions. This award was introduced in October 2024 to mark National Allied Health Professions (AHPs) Day (14 October) and the anniversary of Professor Suzanne Rastrick OBE having been CAHPO for 10 years.
The Gold Award acknowledges, rewards and celebrates excellence within the AHP community. It recognises outstanding and exceptional contribution in their work, demonstration of strong NHS values and high levels of commitment and quality throughout their role.
While AHP colleagues can be nominated for the state honours system and for the annual CAHPO Awards, there are many AHPs in England whose work has made a significant contribution, but which does not necessarily fit with those existing routes of recognition.
Complementing the CAHPO Awards, the CAHPO Gold Award recognise individuals who have excelled in skills and expertise, leadership and inspiration, innovation and in bringing care and compassion to work throughout their career. The award identifies recipients as “beacons of their profession and a shining example for others to aspire to”.
To nominate an AHP for a CAHPO Gold Award, please complete the CAHPO Gold Award Nomination Form and submit it to the email address as instructed on the form. Applications close in Autumn 2025.
