Published: 14 December 2020 Awards

Our gold medal awards are the highest honour the Society of Radiographers can bestow upon a member of the diagnostic and therapeutic imaging profession.

These prestigious awards celebrate individuals who have made exceptional contributions to radiography, developed our profession and advanced the work of the Society and College of Radiographers.

Awarded every ten years, we were due to give these awards in 2020 but had to postpone due to the pandemic. We are delighted to announce nominations have now reopened, with the submission deadline being Friday 19 February 2021.

What you need to know:

  • Nominees can be UK or overseas nationals
  • Their field of work can span all the imaging and therapeutic radiotherapy modalities and the wider spheres of education, commerce, industry and management
  • Their nomination can be based on past and / or recent achievements
  • All nominations must be supported by a group of 10 current Society of Radiographers members
  • Nominees do not have to be current members of the Society
  • Nominees may be from outside the radiography profession
  • All submissions should be made using the official online nomination form

Please be assured, if you previously submitted a nomination in 2020 these are secure and will be considered with any new nominations.

The Awards Committee will select the Gold Medal Award recipients in March 2021, with a celebratory event planned for July.
