Nominations for the 2026 Chief Allied Health Professions Officer Awards will open on Friday, 1 May, providing an opportunity for radiographers to receive recognition for exceptional work.
The Chief Allied Health Professions Officer (CAHPO) Awards highlight the work of Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) across a number of different categories, from digital practice to innovation. The nomination period for CAHPO 2026 will close on Sunday, 31 May at 11.59pm.
AHPs working in any of the 14 Allied Health Professions in England are eligible for nomination. AHPs can nominate themselves or others, including support workers, assistant practitioners, registered professionals and pre-registration apprentices and students.
Improving and advancing AHP practice
There are a total of eight CAHPO Awards categories and one overall AHP of the Year category:
- AHP Creative Provision of Placements Award: For AHP leaders, educators and/or students from health and social care or education who have been involved in initiatives around AHP practice-based learning
- AHP Public Health Award:For an AHP team or individual who has driven service improvements that benefit the health and well-being of the population
- AHP Digital Practice Award: For AHPs who have pioneered digital developments
- AHP Workforce Transformation Award: For individual AHPs or teams that are innovating in AHP workforce supply
- AHP Innovation and Improvement Award: For AHP practitioners or a team of practitioners to which AHPs have contributed who have driven quality improvement in their work, and who have advocated for quality improvement
- AHP Research Impact Award: For individuals or teams who have led research projects or initiatives that have had a positive impact on AHPs, AHP services, people and communities
- Greener AHP Award: Recognises an AHP team or individual who has delivered service improvements that improve the environmental impact of healthcare
- AHP Leadership for Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Award: Acknowledges AHPs who have contributed significantly to advancing equality, diversity and inclusion agenda
- CAHPO Award (AHP of the Year): Awarded by the CAHPO for England. This is an overall award and is decided from the winners of each of the above categories. Nominations cannot be submitted for this category
When will the winners be announced?
To submit a nomination for the CAHPO Awards 2026, click here once the nomination period is live.
Shortlists will be announced by the CAHPO on 28 August 2026, and the winners will be announced in October 2026.
