The completion of regulatory procedures with pharmaceutical and medical equipment authorities worldwide means that the plans announced a year ago to replace Toshiba Medical with Canon Medical Systems have been completed.

Established in 1930, Toshiba became a global business, operating in 140 countries and regions

Canon entered the medical equipment business in 1940 with the development of the first indirect x-ray camera made in Japan and currently produces digital imaging systems and OCT ophthalmic devices.

The newly named business is a member of the College of Radiographers Industry Partnership Scheme (CoRIPS), which provides companies associated with imaging and radiotherapy with the opportunity to collaborate with the Society and College and provide financial support for research and educational projects.
