The Health and Care Professions Council is currently seeking registered Diagnostic Radiographers to work with it as registration assessors.
Registration assessors are registered members of the professions that the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) regulates.
They assess applications from health professionals who have undergone training in one of the relevant professions, so the HCPC can maintain an accurate register of health and care professionals who meet its standards for their training, professional skills, behaviour and health.
Successful applicants will be expected to assess registration from the first stage attention to potentially carrying out a test of competence.
Based on their findings, assessors are able to make a recommendation to the HCPC’s Education and Training Committee regarding the outcome of an application.
Registration assessors work in pairs, and the ability to cooperate in a professional and constructive manner is essential. They also act on feedback they receive from other assessors, the registration team and through the appeals process.
Registration assessors are responsible for assessing all ‘Grandparenting’, international, Swiss Mutual Recognition (SMR), UK-Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein Free Trade Agreement (FTA) or European Mutual Recognition (EMR) applicants to see if they meet the Health and Care Professions Council’s (HCPC) standards of proficiency before being accepted onto the register.
Sammuel, registration manager at the HCPC, said: “This means that our assessors are able to have an invaluable input into protecting the public through the maintenance of our register.”
This role is completed remotely and the HCPC pays a rate of £82 per application reviewed. Any travel and accommodation expenses in relation to this role are paid in accordance with the HCPC expenses policy.
Registration assessment can fit around most diary commitments and working patterns. If successful, applicants will be required to attend mandatory training prior to commencement of the role.
Applications close on Friday 30 May 2025 at 1pm. Interviews will take place from 7 July until 1 August. Compulsory training dates are Thursday 11 September or Thursday 25 September.
All applications must be completed via the HCPC’s recruitment website to be considered. More details about the role can be found online here. CVs and cover letters are not accepted.
