NHS England and NHS Improvement is seeking a one-day per month advisor to help implement the recommendations of the Richards Review of Diagnostic Capacity.

NHS England and NHS Improvement came together on 1 April 2019 as a new single organisation. The NHS Long Term Plan focuses on delivering integrated care to patients at the local level and we can best support the NHS to deliver this as a single integrated organisation.

The new operating model represents a strong shift to regional delivery supported by expert corporate teams. Local health systems are supported by integrated regional teams who play a major leadership role in the geographies they manage.

The objective of the National Imaging Optimisation Delivery Board (NIODB) is to implement the recommendations in the Richards’ Review of Diagnostic Capacity including the creation of Community Diagnostic Hubs and to facilitate Lord Carter’s recommendations for acute providers in the areas of clinical quality and efficiency, workforce productivity, estates and facilities management, and procurement in respect of diagnostic services.

The Clinical Lead for Imaging Digital & IT will lead on the clinical input to build the vision for imaging IT and support the National Specialty Advisor (NSA) for Imaging in this technical subject area with responsibility for chairing the NIODB Digital & IT Sub-committee and be a key advisor to the NSA on the digital architecture and strategy for imaging.
