Members of the SoR can now access fully searchable archive of content to support their research and practice

Insight, the Society of Radiographers’ official journal for continuing professional development, is now accessible entirely online via a digital platform.

This new digital publication for Insight will give radiographers access to a full range of fully searchable CPD articles, making the new platform a vital tool for radiographers in clinical practice or research.

Insight, which launched as Imaging and Therapy Practice in 2015, publishes CPD articles from radiographers, sonographers and those working in nuclear medicine at every stage of professional development, from pre-reg learners to those in fully-fledged careers.

'Instant access anytime, anywhere'

Rachel Nolan, president of the SoR and chair of the Insight Editorial Board, said: “As chair of the Insight board and president of the SoR I am very excited about the move to the new digital platform and what it can offer to readers. It will enhance accessibility, enabling instant access anytime, anywhere, across devices. The searchable archive transforms how readers can engage with past content, making it easier to revisit and build on professional knowledge.

“The digital format also allows us to expand the breadth and timeliness of our articles, supporting more voices and more frequent updates. This evolution reflects our commitment to innovation, sustainability, and delivering high-quality, relevant content in a way that meets the needs of a modern, connected radiography community.”

The new platform has been designed alongside the SoR’s publishing partner Wonderly, and will feature the latest in radiography research and a searchable archive of Insight articles.

From September 2026, Insight will be published quarterly exclusively via the online platform.

The journey to net zero

Dr Emma Hyde, head of education and research at the SoR, said: “I am delighted that the digital platform for Insight is now live. This will help our members more easily locate and search for articles in the Insight archives. Our current print format can make searching for a particular author or topic difficult, as articles can only be searched by issue.

“Going forward, members will be able to use the search tool to find articles quickly and easily. Moving to digital is also an important part of our sustainability journey as an organisation. The environmental impact of printing Insight is significant, so moving to a digital version reduces our carbon footprint as an organisation and helps us on the journey to Net Zero.”

Emma added: “Members will also be able to download PDF versions of articles, which will be particularly helpful for those wanting to use an article for CPD, education or research purposes.”

The journal is a supportive environment for radiography professionals of all experience levels, with all articles peer-reviewed by a board of specialist reviewers.

Insight showcases a variety of content, including research papers, case studies, posters, personal reflections and more.
