As part of the European Federation of Radiographer Societies’ efforts to advance the profession across Europe, it has launched a survey on Continuing Professional Development.
By going directly to radiographers from across the continent, it hopes to understand how Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is implemented and supported in different countries.
Responses to the survey will support the European Federation of Radiographer Societies (EFRS) to understand important CPD policies, requirements and challenges.
CPD refers to learning activities undertaken by professionals to maintain, develop, and enhance their knowledge, skills, and competencies throughout their careers.
Engaging in CPD regularly is important in ensuring that radiographers continue to practice safely and effectively.
Given the considerable variation across Europe in how CPD is defined and applied, the EFRS hopes that contributions from radiographers will support them to map current practices and identify areas for improvement and harmonisation.
For example, terminology such as ‘continuing education’ and ‘lifelong learning’ are often used interchangeably with CPD in the published literature.
A spokesperson for the EFRS said: “Your experience and perspective are invaluable in helping shape future EFRS policies, publications, and professional development initiatives. Thank you in advance for taking the time to contribute to this important work and for your continued commitment to professional excellence.”
This survey takes approximately five-10 minutes to complete. Responses are kept confidential and will only be accessible to the CPD working group. All data will be stored securely and presented at the group level, ensuring individual answers remain anonymous.
The survey will remain open until 30 November 2025, but radiographers are encouraged to participate as soon as possible.
