The SoR is delighted to announce the launch of a new digital platform for Continuing Professional Development in radiography.
Insight, the Society of Radiographers’ official journal for Continuing Professional Development (CPD), will be switching to a new online-only format from June 2026.
This new digital publication for Insight will give radiographers access to a full range of fully searchable CPD articles, making the new platform a vital tool for radiographers in clinical practice or research.
Alex Rapson-Ballinger, editor of Insight, said: “Since its launch, Insight and its predecessor, Imaging and Therapy Practice, have been absolute stalwart publications for the radiography profession.
“The move to a new, digital-only format is fantastic news for SoR members and researchers. By introducing a fully searchable archive, we are making years of invaluable CPD resources accessible anywhere, at any time.”
The new platform, designed in collaboration with the SoR’s publishing partner Wonderly, will feature all the latest in radiography research and a searchable archive of Insight articles.
Insight’s new digital format is due to launch in June, alongside the publication of the Summer 2026 print edition of the journal, which will be the final print version of Insight.
From September 2026, Insight will be published quarterly exclusively via the online platform.
Alex added: “This is an exciting step that ensures Insight remains at the forefront of radiography publishing, and we can’t wait to share this new platform with professionals as they strive to deliver exceptional clinical practice.”
Insight, which launched as Imaging and Therapy Practice in 2015, publishes CPD articles from radiographers, sonographers and those working in nuclear medicine at every stage of professional development, from pre-reg learners to those in fully-fledged careers.
The journal is a supportive environment for radiography professionals of all experience levels, with all articles peer-reviewed by a board of specialist reviewers.
Insight showcases a variety of content, including research papers, case studies, posters, personal reflections and more.
Dr Emma Hyde, head of education and research at the SoR, said the move would allow for a more efficient publishing process and support radiographers in finding articles more easily.
“It is very exciting to be part of the team that is working behind the scenes to move Insight to digital-only,” she said.
“The move to a digital-only version of Insight will help us publish articles more quickly, sharing the research and innovation of our members in a timelier manner than the current paper version.
“It will help our members to find articles that are of interest to them more easily, through the new search function we will have on the SoR website.
“The move to digital-only will also support the Society’s sustainability targets, by reducing the carbon footprint generated by printing and posting the current paper versions of Insight.”
