The Society of Radiographers is inviting members to join the launch of the Equalise Women’s Group, a new initiative focused on helping women connect and enhancing inclusivity.
Set to officially launch with an opening meeting on 15 December, the Equalise Women’s Group will provide a place for women to form meaningful connections and inform practical actions for inclusivity across the radiography profession. In addition, it will directly support the rollout of the SoR’s Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (EDIB) Action Plan for 2025-27.
Taking place from 6.30pm-8.00pm, the inaugural event will include talks from Leandre Archer, SoR head of industrial relations and the SoR’s EDIB consultant Rubi Gubara-Sannie, founder and managing director at Turning Tables.

At the initial meeting, attendees will agree the group’s terms of reference and confirm key roles such as chair, deputy chair and social media lead, alongside a discussion of any additional support that may be needed.
Early priorities will be set, along with a working plan aligned to the SoR EDIB Action Plan, and efforts will be made to establish how the SoR can support the group.
Potential members of the SoR Women’s Equalise Group should be aware that as per the recent Supreme Court ruling, participation in this group is limited to cisgender women (members whose legal sex is female at birth). The SoR is aware that this may not reflect all members’ views, but it intends to comply with the current legal framework while it continues to provide inclusive spaces across Equalise for all members.
The LGBTQI+ Equalise Network remains open and active for members who wish to connect there. The SoR will continue collaborating across Equalise, so everyone has supportive spaces to engage.
