Dr Karen Knapp explains why attending the European Congress of Radiology in Vienna next year will be a truly inspiring experience

Published: 15 December 2022 Event News

It is my great pleasure to invite you to the ECR 2023, held in Vienna from the 1st to the 5th March 2023.

As a member of the Radiographers’ Scientific Subcommittee in collaboration with the EFRS, we have prepared an innovative, inspiring and excellent programme with has something for all radiographers and will be a useful addition to your continuing professional development, with exposure to both cutting edge research and hot topics in radiography.

There will be more than 120 presentations primarily from radiographers, focusing on developing knowledge, sharing innovations and recent research undertaken by members of our profession.  The sessions cover a wide range of topics and include professional challenges, open forum, young ECR, a hands on ultrasound workshop and scientific sessions.

Exhibition and research hub

The exhibition will include the latest imaging modalities and software solutions from a wide range of manufacturers and I encourage you to visit this and explore the technology which will help shape our future.

The EFRS will be running a research hub where you can participate in a range of research projects undertaken by radiographers.  This allows you to be part of current research, which will influence our future practice.

The networking opportunities afforded by the ECR cannot be underestimated and the radiography community is strong and supportive.  Meeting radiographers from across Europe is an opportunity not to be missed.

I look forward to meeting you in Vienna and I hope you will enjoy the programme we have put together for you
