The fifth international Leading the Way in Radiography/Radiotherapy Advanced Practice conference will be held at the University of Bradford later this year.

Radiographers are invited to the three-day event, where attendees can share and develop best practice, promote the profession, inspire the next generation and provide peer support and encouragement.

From 5-7 September, delegates from across the globe will gather to learn more about this year’s theme: 'Advancement of Excellence in Care'.

Communication and sharing

Aimed at existing and aspiring advanced practitioners in diagnostic and therapeutic radiography, the conference attracts leaders in advanced practice radiography disciplines as well as those who have not yet started their journey.

Attendees will hear from experts from across the spectrum of advanced practice about the journey to it, getting it right and communicating and sharing lessons learnt from it.

This year 63 abstracts were received from countries across the globe, including Canada, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates.

The events programme includes:

  • Friday evening welcome and networking event
  • Saturday full day and Sunday (until early afternoon); international keynote speakers, oral and poster proffered papers, networking opportunities and workshops
  • Saturday night social event including DJ and buffet (tickets purchased separately)

The event will be CPD Now endorsed.

Bringing together the experts

Beginning in 2016 as a two-day conference at Sheffield Hallam University, the event brought together medical radiation science professionals, including radiographers, from across the world who were interested in advanced practice.

Subsequent LTWRAP conferences were held at the Michener Institute in Toronto, Canada in 2018, virtually in 2021, and in Singapore in 2023, where over 180 delegates were in attendance.

Professional bodies including the SoR, the Canadian Society of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT), and Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (ASMIRT) are supporting the event, which is sponsored by Ardon Medical Devices, Fujifilm Healthcare UK, Annalise AI, and Terumo Interventional Systems.
