The Professional Alliance of Indian Radiographers Special Interest Group (PAIR SIG) will host a webinar on the subject of MRI safety this week.

The webinar - which coincides with MRI Safety Week 2025 - will take place on Wednesday 23 July from 7.30pm-9pm. Those interested in attending the lecture can register here

Three speakers are set to take part in the webinar, which will be hosted on Microsoft Teams. Noyal Mathew, head of professional education at PAIR and MRI practice educator at University College London Hospitals, will lead the session and also deliver a talk on exploring the MRI safety questionnaire as well as provide implant updates.

Abhilash Thachandra Rajesh, lead MRI radiographer at Cleveland Clinic London will deliver an introduction to MRI safety, while Shilpa Singh, a clinical scientist at University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire NHS Trust, will talk about hazards in MRI.

This is the third online lecture in the group’s Resonate With Pair series. The previous lecture saw Pancy Jones of Chesterfield Royal NHS Foundation Trust invited to speak about the importance of improving ‘speaking up’ culture.

What is MRI Safety Week?

MRI Safety Week 2025, which takes place from 21-25 July, informs and reminds radiographers, healthcare workers and patients about the potential hazards associated with operating magnetic resonance machinery. It was created in memory of a young patient who died after an MR unsafe oxygen cylinder was taken into an MR environment.
