SoR members are encouraged to sign up for the Centre for Advancing Practice’s (CfAP) annual conference, which will take place on 10-14 November.

Under the theme ‘Ten Years, Three Shifts, One Mission: Advancing Practice for the Future NHS’, the conference will be held entirely online. The itinerary will focus on how advanced practitioners will help to deliver the three “shifts” outlined in the government’s 10 Year Health Plan. These are:

  • Moving treatment from hospitals to communities
  • Changing from an analogue system to a digital system
  • Prioritising prevention over treatment

This information will be delivered in the form of keynote speeches, interactive panels and engagement areas. Sessions will be available on-demand after the event for attendees.

Conference attendees will gain insights from leading experts and experienced practitioners from England and beyond, as well as become educated on practical tools and strategies for facing the advancing practice challenges that are prevalent today.

The itinerary will feature explorations on emerging trends, a look at essential skills and proven best practices delivered in engaging formats.

In total, the 2024 conference attracted more than 3,500 registrations across the advancing practice community.

How to sign up for the conference

SoR members who wish to register for the conference should check out the conference homepage here to sign up, read the FAQs and learn about previous iterations. Those who are already registered can access the conference's delegates area through the password in their registration confirmation email.

Attendees will receive an email outlining how they can access the conference before it begins. All accompanying conference documents and handouts will be available on the Centre for Advancing Practice’s website.

Advanced Practice masterclasses

This month, the CfAP will hold an advanced practice masterclass titled ‘Unlocking Potential: The ePortfolio (Supported) Route Explained’. The masterclass will take place on 14 October from 12:30-13:30.

The aim of the session is to introduce attendees to the ePortfolio (Supported) Route, which is a pathway that recognises advanced practitioners who achieved their education outside an accredited programme.
