This year’s edition of the UK Imaging and Oncology Congress will feature the inaugural SoR Educators Lounge session.

The UK Imaging and Oncology (UKIO) Congress is an annual three-day event that brings a multidisciplinary audience together to learn from state-of-the-art presentations, keynote speeches and panel discussions. Attendees span diagnostic imaging, oncology and radiological sciences.

UKIO 2026 will take place from 8-10 June at the Liverpool Experience Campus (formerly the ACC Liverpool).

The SoR Educators Lounge will take place on 8 June in Hub 3 from 4:45pm to 5:45pm. Named ‘Tuition impossible’, the session will be chaired by former SoR president Tom Welton and will feature a number of presentations from professionals in clinical education.

What can I expect from the Educators Lounge?

Opening the session will be three speakers from the SCoR Practice Educator Special Interest Group - Angie White, Mariesa Taylor-AllkinsandRuth Newport - who will outline the SIG’s objectives. This will be followed by a talk by Dr Amy Robertson from the College of Radiographers, who will present the CoR’s view on placement hours and simulation.

Next, Fodi Kyriakos, director at Skilled Personnel will discuss Continuing Professional Development (CPD) within professional practice, and Olivia Clarksmith and Maria Reynolds will present their findings in relation to feedback from the National Education and Training Survey (NETS).

The session will wrap up with a Q&A fireside chat hosted by Tom, where audience members can interact and participate. Attendees will have the opportunity to network after the sessions come to an end. The Educators Lounge itinerary is aimed at anyone interested in undergraduate or apprenticeship through to preceptorship or newly qualified education.

What else can I see at UKIO?

UKIO 2026 promises a packed schedule of plenaries, lectures and workshops all designed to bolster the imaging and oncology workforce.

As well as taking in the itinerary, attendees can also look around UKIO’s professional exhibition, where imaging companies showcase their top-of-the-range technologies to those at the forefront of the industry.
