Advanced Clinical Practitioner apprenticeship EoI approved

Following a consultation with the SCoR and other organisations, the Department for Education has approved the Expression of Interest (EoI) put forward for the advanced practice apprenticeship standard.

A group of interested parties will now come together and develop the standard and the Society will provide input. The core group will include employers and education providers.

“We have been providing advice and guidance to a variety of groups who are planning to put forward EoIs for various roles in radiography and are pleased that this EoI for Advanced Clinical Practice is progressing,” commented Charlotte Beardmore, the SCoR director of professional policy.

"There will be only one standard for advanced clinical practice across England and this must be able to support the development of advanced clinical practice roles across the breadth of health and social care and across all registered professions," she continued.

“The lead of the approved trailblazer for the advanced clinical practitioner EoI will be a member of the Health Education England Advanced Clinical Practice project group, which I co-chair,” Charlotte continued.

“Alignment to this group’s work will be essential.”

Charlotte also emphasised that members should take part in the consultations as the work progresses for the advanced clinical practice apprenticeship standard via https://consult.education.gov.uk

Members will be advised via the website and other SCoR media as consultations happen.
