Anti-bullying campaign: Show your support with a selfie!

Published: 10 December 2015 Ezine

Join with other members and share a selfie of yourself and your team to pledge to ‘Stamp Out Bullying’.

Following on from November’s anti-bullying week, the SoR is asking you to show your support. Here’s how:

1. Grab a selfie stick or a colleague with a camera.

2. Take a ‘selfie’ and send to [email protected]

3. Tweet photos using the hashtag #StampOutBullying to @SCoRMembers.

We will publish and share your #StampOutBullying selfies via social media and our other media.

Bullying in the workplace and educational institutions remains a serious problem for many of our members. SCoR research shows that nearly half of those members who responded to a survey in 2013 had experienced bullying in some form.

The effects of bullying and harrassment can be crippling. It can lead to anxiety, stress, fatigue and loss of self-esteem. It also affects the overall ‘health’ of the organisation – an estimated 18 million working days are lost in the UK each year because of bullying.

The SoR is determined to raise awareness and urges departments across the UK to sign up to a pledge to Stamp Out Bullying. It also wants to highlight how it hurts the profession by raising awareness of the effects of student bullying.
