The third Developing Tomorrow’s Leaders: Essential Training for Managers course took place in Cardiff, where delegates were able to tackle in-depth, real life radiography related management scenarios.

It was greeted with positive feedback from participants after they explored a range of professional management topics including professionalism, partnership working and managing change.

A session was held by Bernadette McCarthy, radiotherapy services manager at Velindre NHS trust, where she shared an insight into her career progression and into the life of a service manager.

Commenting on the course, Bernadette said, “It was inspiring for me, as an experienced manager of some years, to hear the leaders of the future so engaged, interested and eager to learn.

“I thoroughly enjoyed the day and I feel that our profession is in safe hands.”

An interactive session was held on the second day covering investigative and communication skills, which was newly introduced this year.

Delivered by professional and industrial relations officers Alexandra Lipton, Sue Johnson, Kevin Tucker and Richard Pembridge, a further course will be held in Manchester in October.

Venue details and dates will be released nearer the time, but you can contact Alex Lipton to register interest or for any further information.
