Have your say in parliamentary debate on NHS student bursaries

Published: 16 December 2015 Ezine

On Monday 11 January, Parliament will debate the scrapping of student bursaries in favour of loans, after over 140,000 people signed a petition in opposition to the plans.

There is still time to sign the petition, so if you have not done so already, do it now by clicking here

Once you have completed the petition, you will receive an email inviting you to attend a debate at the Houses of Parliament ahead of the official debate between MPs.

The Chair of the Petitions Committee, Helen Jones MP, will be on hand to explain the Committee’s work and answer your questions about the e-petition debate, as well as hear your views on the subject.

The discussion will take place at 3pm on the 11 January in the Jubilee Room in the Palace of Westminster.

The event is free to attend, but tickets are allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Following this, MPs will take part in the main debate in Westminster Hall at the Houses of Parliament from 4.30pm.

Visitors are also welcome to attend the debate, and are free to post on social media about the issues discussed.
