Have your say on the future of MSK services

Published: 13 December 2016 Ezine

The Department for Work and Pensions and the Department of Health are seeking the views of health professionals working with patients with musculo-skeletal (MSK) illnesses as part of a new consultation.

This consultation phase directly follows on from the publication of the Government’s paper ‘Improving Lives – the Work, Health and Disability Green Paper’ published earlier this year.

The paper is designed to outline the challenges in achieving more equal employment prospects for people living with disabilities, and to set out plans to improve access to jobs, health and social care services for disabled people.

This consultation is specifically seeking the view of health professionals working in MSK to identify how and where current services and support can be improved.

Your views are needed on;

  • addressing challenges to treatment and care
  • how MSK services can provide for the general population and address employment support issues for people of working age and older
  • what needs/support do you need that will improve MSK services and the way you work with people with MSK conditions?

The deadline for responses is 17 February 2017.
