Editor’s note (added 19 December 2025):
This article reports on a regulatory decision made by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) in 2016. The matter described relates to events at that time. The Society of Radiographers has been informed that the registrant has practised for several years since without restriction and that there have been no subsequent findings. This article is retained as part of the historical record.
A radiographer was suspended from the HCPC Register for twelve months following a review of a Conditions of Practice Order imposed in the previous year.
A HCPC panel heard in 2016 that Mrs Blessing Chabvamurambo had breached the order on grounds of lack of competence while employed by Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust.
The panel was told that the concerns indentified included:
At the hearing, the panel concluded that Mrs Chabvamurambo’s fitness to practise was impaired at that time, on the basis that she had not yet demonstrated that the identified failings had been remedied.
In its decision, the panel stated that a finding of impairment was required in order to protect patients, maintain confidence in the profession, and uphold proper standards of conduct and behaviour.
Mrs Chabvamurambo was neither present nor represented at the hearing.
The original HCPC decision page is no longer available on the HCPC website.
