How prepared are you for new safety standards?

The Society for Radiological Protection (SRP) is organising a one-day meeting to discuss the implementation of the new EURATOM Basic Safety Standards Directive 2013/59.

BSS is due to due to be transposed into UK legislation by 6 February 2018.

The meeting will take place on Tuesday 22 November 2016 at the Royal Institution on 21 Albemarle Street, London.

Speakers from the Department of Health, Public Health England, Health and Safety Executive, Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and the Environment Agency will be there to discuss and shed light on the new legislation.

There will be four main sessions, each will be followed by a discussion forum. Topics will include:

  • Protection of individuals undergoing medical exposures using medical radiological equipment or radioactive medicinal products
  • Protection of workers and the public
  • Protection of the environment and the public
  • Qualified experts

Attendees also have the opportunity to ask speakers questions during the meeting.
